Blades and Beyond Tomasz Żurawskis Career Growth at GWS

Tomasz Żurawski’s path to becoming a Blade Technician at Global Wind Service is marked by determination, and a strong passion for exploration. Tomasz has been a part of the GWS team for the past two years.
Before joining GWS, Tomasz had already built a career working at heights. As a rope access technician, he worked on skyscrapers, installing massive advertisements. His job demanded precision, creativity, and courage, all qualities he now brings to his role at GWS. Driven by a desire for new challenges and professional growth, he ventured into the renewable energy sector, where he discovered Blade Repair. Tomasz began his career as a blade repair technician at a small company. He completed his training at Global wind Service Academy, where he crossed paths with Alexander Gołda. Through Alexander, Tomasz was introduced to the GWS recruitment team, and with a vacancy within the blades department, Tomasz soon after joined Global wind Service as a Blade repair technician.


When we asked Tomasz about his typical day, he responded that, each day as a blade technician is unique but follows a disciplined rhythm. “Planning, precision, and safety are key,” he explains. “Every detail matters and ensuring the safety of my team and myself is crucial.”

While the job comes with its challenges—like ensuring quality and managing risks—Tomasz faces them with a positive mindset, balancing technical skills with empathy “The difficult part of my job is certainly to make sure that I do a good job, which requires a correct approach to performing the assigned tasks, but I simply try to always make sure that I give the maximum of myself. Another challenge is the responsibility for the safety of myself and the team. This also requires responsibility and emotional intelligence, awareness of the risks, and making good decisions without concessions or compromises. Working as a part of the team thrives on awareness and understanding- recognizing and supporting each other. I am continuously working on my personal growth outside of work, building on my strong soft skills.”

When asked what initially attracted him to GWS, Tomasz highlights the company’s solid reputation and the encouragement of friends in the industry. “The level of planning and support I received from day one was exceptional,” he recalls. “The opportunity for growth and the high standards of work convinced me that GWS was the right place for me.”

Tomasz finds his greatest pride not in a single project but in the daily sense of contribution and collaboration he shares with his team. "Every project is special and unique," he explains. "What fulfills me most is knowing I’ve made a meaningful impact—whether through the quality of my work or by supporting a colleague."

Outside of work, Tomasz is a self-proclaimed “outdoor freak” who finds peace and inspiration in nature. His love for photography allows him to capture the breathtaking views he encounters during his travels. “Working at heights gives me a front-row seat to some of the most incredible sights, especially at sunrise and sunset,” he shares. “Photography is my way of expressing creativity and showing the world how I see it.”
For Tomasz, his experience at GWS can be summed up in one word: Development. It is a place where he has not only grown professionally but also personally, embracing challenges, and discovering new corners of the world—one project, one photograph, and one sunrise at a time.
